Salmon has always been to me a required taste. This Pineapple Teriyaki Salmon has a unique and delicious Asian flavor and still healthy. The taste is rich in fresh pineapple that cooks up into a delicious glaze. Fresh lemon gives it just that right balance and this recipe is what made me a salmon lover. I have had it several different ways but this puts it over the top for me and a keeper I make often. One of my kegemarane ways to top off a healthy salad!

I love the fact that salmon is full of healthy proteins, vitamins and minerals. It is an excellent source for your for your heart, hair, skin.



The omega 3 fatty oils reputation are said to be a valuable "brain food".



The idea for eating fish that is healthy for your heart like salmon was discovered way back in the 1970's and through the 1980's when studies were shown to have less heart disease in the Arctic and Greenland Region where salmon was in high consumption in their diets.

When I made salmon for the first time, I just made it with lemon, butter and dill weed.



It's another delicious way to enjoy salmon. Then I started experimenting with Asian flavors like this one. It's always a big hit with everyone.



I also love it smoked. If you have never had it smoked it is a desired taste. I had purchased a smoke for my son at Christmas for him and his family and he has made it smoked several times.




It's great on top of salad.



I just love salmon on top of my salad, it really compliments the salad and a nice change from having grilled chicken all the time.



Salmon no matter which way it's prepared is a great addition to leafy greens, tomatoes and another way to get more health benefits when serving.



I have one more suggestion that goes a long way especially at a picnic outdoor gathering. I like to use this recipe in small pieces and make kabobs.



Kabobs are so easy. Just thread the salmon on wooden skewers with pineapple, alternating every other one and brush with the sauce.



You can grill in packets or bake in parchment. They are a fun way to serve and you can easily use them on top of a salad they look super pretty on top of salads!



You can even add several colors of pepper slices for more color.



I am sure you will get creative with side dishes.



If you're watching carbs then you will want to stick to some steamed or roasted vegetables.



Any kind of broccoli or roasted brussels sprouts go famously with this dish.



If you don't watch carbs then you can make white rice as a side dish. When I write a recipe I like to give suggestions but only you know for sure what your family will love.

Pineapple Teriyaki Salmon

prep time: 10 MINScook time: 2 MINStotal time: 12 mins

ingredients:


Salmon 2 large pieces ( I used fresh Atlantic)

2 slices of Fresh lemons per piece

Crushed or chunk fresh pineapple blotted dry or use all natural pineapple preserves

Teriyaki sauce or soy sauce 2 or 3 tablespoons per fillet  cup 

Optional 1 Tablespoon natural raw honey and a pinch of red pepper flakes

Cracked fresh pepper and salt to taste

Granulated garlic 1 teaspoon

Parchment paper or oil sprayed foil

instructions:

Place the salmon on parchment paper. Spread on the pineapple on top then honey if using. Pour teriyaki sauce over the salmon. Sprinkle with granulated garlic and pepper evenly over each piece. Top with lemons.


Bake at 350 degree hot preheated panggangan until salmon flakes easily around 20 to 25 minutes until fish flakes easily.  If starting to dry out add a little water to keep it moist.
Another option is to grill on high heat. This fish cooks quickly in approximately 15 minutes, turning over once.
